Chris Coady (I think) is on his way back from Los Angeles where he just produced and mixed the new LP by Abe Vigoda for Post Present Medium. Check out Abe Vigoda on tour with Vampire Weekend. Dates here.

“Stroke: Songs for Chris Knox” is out today on Merge today. Head over to Insound to pick up a copy. Chris is a good friend of ours and our own James Brown mixed the Boh Runga track.
Check out this great interview with Chris that was on Pitchfork yesterday.

Yesterday as part of the “Live at Lime” series produced by the LimeWire store, our Geoff Sanoff recorded and mixed a live 5 song session by the Soundtrack of Our Lives at Stratosphere Sound. It was a whirlwind session with the band only in the studio for 3 hours – there wasn’t even time to take a proper photo. Below is the best one of the bunch.

Geoff Sanoff just finished engineering & mixing two songs for Sony artists Asian Kung-Fu Generation at Stratosphere Sound. They even finished a day EARLY, if you can believe that.
Here is a picture of Geoff + the band in studio:

Snip: “Beach House is signed by indie’s heaviest, Sub Pop; has spent weeks with indie production’s heaviest, Chris Coady.” Read the whole deal here.

You are looking at Chris Coady’s first studio. It was 1997 and he was a 19 year old who just got his first record label advance. The rent was only $80/month because the neighborhood was so bad. Thought you all might enjoy…

This popped up on my Google Alerts today. I have no idea what it means, but I assume it has something to do with the fact that Geoff Sanoff (former member of Edsel) is in Stratosphere Sound for the next week or so recording & mixing Asian Kung Fu Generation. They are HUGE in Japan.
UPDATE: Apparently it just means “Geoff Sanoff. Used to be the bass player in Edsel.” But it still looks cool, so we’ll take it.

James Brown just wrapped up producing the new Pains of Being Pure at Heart single at Stratosphere Sound this weekend. The Doughnut Plant fueled session went “REALLY” well according to sources on scene. Here is a picture I took of the band at Webster Hall this past October:

Congratulations Geoff! Click here to hear Stephen Colbert thank Geoff in his acceptance speech.
