XLR8R interviews Delorean about the making of “Subiza”

Interesting bit about Chris Coady mixing the album:

“Mixing Subiza proved to be just as atypical of a process: a trans-Atlantic effort with veteran engineer Chris Coady (Telepathe, !!!, Lemonade, TV on the Radio) requiring live communication with the band via iChat. “He would send us a link, we would open it with iTunes, and we would listen to what he was doing in the studio in real time,” says Lopetegi, reimagining the process: “‘Chris, why don’t you turn up that drum snare? Or turn down the vocals? The bass is too loud…’ It was a weird way to work, very new to us, but it’s 2010 and these kinds of things happen.”

Here is the video for “Stay Close”, the first single off Subiza:

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart single gets cover art & release date

Our own James Brown produced, engineered and mixed the upcoming Pains single “Say No To Love”. A baseball fan might call that an unassisted triple play.  Both the A-side “Say No To Love” and B-side “Lost Saint” are just fantastic and we can’t wait for you all to hear them.

From Pitchfork: “Slumberland will release the Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s “Say No to Love”, backed by “Lost Saint”, on June 8. The 7″ record is pressed on sea foam green vinyl, and it’ll also be available digitally.”

Pitchfork also just posted the cover art, check it out.
