Chris Coady is in Plantain studio (formerly the DFA studio) this month producing the new album for Rey Pila. I stopped by the studio yesterday hoping to hear the band play, but sadly they had just run out to pick up a hard drive. Bummer, because I had never heard of these guys before, but what I’ve heard just recently is really, really, really good. Someone smart is going to sign these guys in the US soon.
