For the past month or so, our James Brown has been in Los Angeles engineering the new Matchbox Twenty album with Matt Serletic producing.  Here is a photo of James (with Matt in the background) I stole from the bands twitter.

Arctic Monkeys “Suck it and See” named MOJO’s Best Album of 2011

James Brown has been having a great year – he engineered the Flood-produced The Pains of Being Pure at Heart album, engineered the Butch Vig-produced Foo Fighters LP “Wasting Light” and engineered Arctic Monkeys “Suck it and See” LP – which was just named Best Album by MOJO Magazine.  Not sure exactly why they are doing this with half the year still left, but hey, we’ll take it.  Congratulations to James, and check out the full list of winners here.

James Brown engineered new Arctic Monkeys LP “Suck it and See” out today!

Back in January, Yankees fan James Brown engineered the new Arctic Monkeys LP out in Los Angeles with James Ford producing.  I haven’t heard the full album yet, but if the reviews listed over at the “Suck it and See” wikipedia page are to be believed, it’s a pretty darn good album.  We can all find out tomorrow when it is released.  Here is the band on the cover of the current issue of Q, where they name-check James Brown.

Digital Producer Magazine talks to James Brown & Butch Vig about the new Foo Fighters album

Digital Producer Magazine recently spoke to James and Butch about making the new Foo Fighters album… which is kind of funny since there was not a single bit or byte involved in the making of the thing.  Click the screenshot below to read the story and see a fantastic photo of James, his hat, Butch and what looks like the Foo Fighters acting like a bunch of monkeys in the background.  The actual Digital Producer Magazine website only loads 1 in 10 times…
