Get a head start on CMJ 2012 by listening to Creepoid. Right now.

Creepoid.  Odds are that you haven’t heard of them unless you live in Philadelphia.  That is not a dis.  You will hear of them.  In fact, if I had to pick a band (today – only 3 days after CMJ 2011) that will probably play 10 shows at CMJ 2012, blow up on blogs and then blow up IRL, I would have to pick Creepoid.  Our Kyle “Slick” Johnson produced their debut LP late last year and just recently recorded a song of theirs for Weathervane Music. It’s called “Old Tree” and you can download it for free & watch a very cool “making of” video featuring Kyle here.   Now go to October 15, 2012 in your iCal and enter in the reminder “see every show Creepoid plays at CMJ”.

I’ve been loving this album for a LONG time.  It is really, really, really good.  Don’t take my word for it though – check out this post on BrooklynVegan today.  Also be sure to check out one of their CMJ shows – I know I will.

Fancy Time studios is open for business!

Kyle “Slick” Johnson’s (Wavves, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Modest Mouse) Philadelphia studio is up and ready to go!  It’s called “Fancy Time” and he just set up his Neotek Series I E desk.  It’s great for mixing, vocals and overdubs and Kyle *just* took over the lease on the adjoining room with a sweet old stone wall, so it will be ready for drums shortly.  Please tell all your Philly friends!  You can Like Fancy Time (and see a lot more photos) on Facebook by clicking here.
